Ollie’s Photo Gallery

Our tour director, Nicole, took us on walking tour of Stresa. Its population is only around 5 thousand, but tourism supports beautiful hotels and excellent restaurants. Lake Maggiore is the largest of Italy's Alpine lakes, and the town overlooks a particularly splendid section of the lake, containing the Borromeo Islands and with mountains running almost to the water's edge. The tour took us into town first to an olive oil store for a talk and tasting, then to the main square where we lunched at a pizza restaurant (go figure!).

After lunch we walked around on our own, then had cocktails in our hotel's rooftop bar.
