After lunch on the ship, we set off again on the bus, this time journeying east into the Black Forest. Our guide dressed for the occasion with both dress and hat indicating her unmarried (and eligible) state. The stop was a way station to change horses and for travelers to refresh in centuries past. The railroad was a huge construction project of the 19th century. Tim and I walked up the gorge, getting a snapshot of the real Black Forest.
