I went to Johnnie Mercer's Pier last evening to see the full moon rise up out of the ocean. It was a beautiful, warm evening, and lots of people were on the beach. A brisk wind generated some pretty active waves.
Sunset was at around 8:30 and moonrise was about 25 minutes later, so the sky was pretty dark as the first edge of the moon appeared on the horizon. Some whispy clouds added to the effect.
These were all shot with a Tamron 100-400 zoom on a Canon 7d. Processing in Lightroom.
